In search of certainty
Mark Burgess
An understanding of probability and uncertainty is important in many areas, such as economics, molecular biology and quantum theory. This book suggests computing is moving away from a command and control structure to a less certain one, and compares this with uncertainty from other areas. Hence I hope it will contribute to a general understanding of probability.
I'm also interested in the notion of command and control, in particular in economics. I've a feeling that our economy isn't at the equilibrium suggested by free market economics, but at one determined by the command and control nature of our society. Maybe this book will help illuminate these ideas.
