The Ambassadors

Henry James

Why I looked at this book

I realised I hadn't taken much notice of the work of Henry James and his brother William, possibly because of the era in which they wrote. Earlier writers give a link to a byegone age. Later writers deal with issues recognisable as being relevant today. But this means that the James brothers were writing when modern ideas were coming into focus, so that I thought it was time I remedied the omission. 'The Ambassadors' is one of Henry James more popular works.
