Gaudy Night

Dorothy L Sayers

About this book

Set in the colleges of Oxford, I find this to be Sayers' most interesting work. Some don't like the way she wrote herself into her stories in the form of Harriet Vane, but I think that it provides an insight into what she really thought. In particular I'm interested in how she saw taking up an academic project as a natural activity for a successful novel writer.
