Exploring Personal Genomics

Joel T. Dudley, Konrad J. Karczewski

Why I looked at this book

Genome sequencing is getting ever cheaper, which means that in the next few years it is likely to be applied in more and more situations, in particular in healthcare. I'm hoping that Exploring Personal Genomics will be a help in discovering where genomics is going and how we should deal with the vast amount of information it will give us.

First impressions

There's a sample chapter as well as the other samples. It looks interesting - you need some background in the subject, but then again it's not at the level of academic papers. I found it fast moving, giving actual examples rathr than empty theorizing. I'm a bit worried that it is more aimed at someone who already has had their genomic information rather than someone with a more general interest - I'll have to see.
