The Biologist's Imagination

William Hoffman,Leo Furcht

Why I looked at this book

I see biotechnology as becoming a more and more important part of our lives in the coming decades, so I'm interested in what this book has to say about how biotech innovation comes about. I hope that it will give an indication of the future path of biotech, as well as looking at what we need to know to make informed choices on which products of the biotechnology industry we most want.

First impressions

So far the book seems to be looking at the history of innovation in general such as the Lunar society and the industrial revolution, rather than specifically biotechnological innovation. I assume that it will get more specific as it goes on, although it seems more about the money side of biotech than I had expected. But it looks interesting, so I'll keep reading.
